Mexico has opened the possibility of receiving non-Mexican migrants deported by the United States, after initially saying they would push President-elect Donald Trump to return other nationalities directly to their countries of origin.

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum says the vast majority of migrants migrate to improve their lives and their families lives. She also seemed to walk back a previous statement that she hoped to come to agreement with President-elect Donald Trump to not take non-Mexican deportees.

Mexico opened the possibility Friday of receiving non-Mexican migrants deported by the United States after initially saying they would push President-elect Donald Trump to return other nationalities directly to their countries of origin.

Mexico is reconsidering its stance on accepting non-Mexican migrants deported from the US, following previous statements that it would advocate for their direct return to home countries. President Claudia Sheinbaum announced the possibility of collaboration if the US fails to send them back to their country of origin,

"We will always support those in need, as this aligns with our foreign policy and the humanistic principles we uphold," said Claudia Sheinbaum
