Rappler sources confirm that Remulla will be taking his oath as the new DILG secretary. Tolentino will assume the post of governor to serve the remainder of Remulla's term.

Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla on Tuesday confirmed that he has been named as the new Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary after former Interior chief Benjamin “Benhur” Abalos Jr.

Francisco Gabriel 'Abeng' Remulla, currently a provincial board member, is running for Cavite governor. His running mate is another bokal, Ramon Vicente 'Ram' Revilla.
