Havard was found dead in her St. Pete Beach home Friday after Hurricane Helene’s storm surge ripped through the beach town the night before. According to the Pinellas-Pasco Medical Examiner’s Office, Havard appeared to have drowned. She was 79.

Many people who were hit hard by Hurricane Helene are now left with the difficult decisions about whether they have enough money to rebuild.

Hurricane Helene devastated thousands of residents and businesses in St. Petersburg and now those hardest hit by the storm have another avenue for relief.

The City of St. Petersburg launched the "We Are St. Pete Fund" in partnership with the Pinellas Community Foundation to raise funds for St. Pete residents and small businesses recovering from Hurricane Helene.
