PLANO, Texas - Plano police have released the name of the woman who was killed by officers last week. The deadly shooting happened on Friday at an apartment complex on 14th Street, near E. Plano Parkway,

It happened around 4:45 p.m. at the MAA Los Rios Apartments in the 4700 block of 14th Street near Los Rios Boulevard in Far East Plano. Officers received a call about a disturbance at the apartments. They tried to negotiate with the woman, but after some time, they opened fire. She was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

While a woman and her 4-year-old child were being kidnapped, two men tried to stop it and one of them was stabbed, police said.

Police said the woman’s behavior resulted in a shooting that involved officers. Police did not specify what behavior led to the shooting or say how the woman was wounded. Officers rendered aid to the woman, who was taken to a hospital where she later died. Her identity was not released.
