The embattled Golden Globes have been on an extended effort to change their ceremony from an out-of-touch awards show into an industry tastemaker. The changes behind the scenes could be what’s behind the upsets already seen — and could lead to a drastically different awards season as a whole.

In addition to all the Globes, “Hacks” has won nine Emmys, including writing awards for Downs, Aniello and Statsky and a directing Emmys for Aniello. The show won outstanding comedy series in 2024 and Smart won the Emmy for lead actress in a comedy series in 2021, 2022 and 2024.

The 2025 Golden Globes ceremony lit up the Beverly Hilton Hotel for another year running, awarding all of the best movies of 2024 including the biggest cinema releases and popular movies from the best streaming services.

With last night’s Golden Globes, awards season has commenced in earnest. Glitz and glam graced the red carpet while an abundance of stars lit up the show, but the real highlight was, of course, the winners.
